Master key & keyfob question
When I bought my 98 GS4, it didn't come with a master key. So I dont have a key fob, and also my trunk button is locked. I read that the pre 2000 models you have to replace the whole key system which is very expensive. So my question is can you progam a universal keyfob to the keyless entry system in the lexus or can I buy a OEM keyfob from Sewell and just use the keyfob. Also is there a way to unlock the truck button inside the car without the master key.

You can get a master key cut by using the VIN through Sewell. That will allow you to open all of locks on the car. Electronics-wise, you will need a master transmitter(fob) to program additional fobs for the car to recognize.
Another option is to get can used ECU and matching fob combo and swap it out with your car to get full functionality again.
