I run Amsoil Signature Series oil, I had been running 0W20, but moved to the HDD Diesel this time (5W30). I ran Valvoline titantium synthetic (the older formula) and changed it at 10k and did oil analysis and it was worse shape overall than the Amsoil is at 25k. I run an Amsoil EAO26 filter (BIG, aka, very big...) and fill with 7 quarts. Its interesting, the oil when sits overnight shows way high, start it and run for a while and then shut off for 10-20 min and it reads spot on full. I typically don't have to add oil till I get around 20k miles, then I usually add a half quart. VERY solid engine. Amsoil oil is the bomb for long drains.

The oil analysis is the key. If I showed it not performing at 25k then I would shorten, but it is always good, its getting tired by 28k to 30k, at 30k was on the edge of oxidation. So I found my limit with this engine. My thoughts are that running an oil cooler (2UZ-FE cooler is in the works, but not installed yet) and an Amsoil bypass filter I bet I can get to 50k on the same oil. But oil analysis is the key to run it, will have to run a UOA at 25k and see how it tests first.

Not really. I do oil analysis to see. The oil is ending its life, but not sludging and oil still within viscosity.

I'm off on my car for the last 3 weeks due to surgery but then back on the road again..... I've put over half of the miles that exist on my car. Still this car has lasted me 2x as long as any GM car.... And the Lexus Gs400 is still chugging along well.

Hi all. I just hit 133k on my ride. Had her since 2002 with 42k.

I have a quick question. I remember getting my timing belt done at the local dealer at around 80k. Does this mean I'm good until 160-170k or should I replace it again sooner? Are there any sign of a worn timing belt?

Also, does being supercharged have any effect on timing belt wear?

Thx

My first foray into the luxury world, 1998 GS300 with 188K. Now it's a year later, 194K. Feels like it could go forever.
