Still can't guage my gas mileage
So, I am not sure if there is something wrong with my fuel gauge because I have never ever ever filled up more than 17.2 gallons of fuel - and this was when the needle is at or even slightly below the empty line. It's crazy because from full I can drive 80 miles and be at 3/4 full and by the time I am on E I am lucky if I go 220 miles! It always seems like I am on schedule to hit around 300 miles but once the guage reads 1/2 it seems like I only get another 70 miles or so until it reads empty. Does this happen to anyone else? Oh and btw, since I changed my fuel filter I get 2 mpg LESS! Yes, I am averaging 14 mpg mixed. My mechanic did the install. The issue with the guage has been going on waaaayyyy before the install of the new fuel filter. What gives?

Ok
I'll do mine
80~ (3/4 tank)
130~ (1/2 tank)
180~ (3/4 tank)
195~ (gas light)
220 and sometimes less (empty) according to my fuel guage.
driving behavior is constant throught the entire tank, car is well maintained.
I am thinking the ONLY thing that has been neglected is the spark plugs. They are torque masters and have about 30k on Them now. I may swith to denso or ngk but I am still undecided as to the make or model, I want them to be performance oriented though.

looks about right due to the fact that your MPH sucks lol. 14 mpg isnt right but the miles and gas level seems right at those mpg readings if im doing my math correctly.
it could be a combination of your having a different final gear, weight due to system + wheels?, tune? etc

it could be but not 100% sure.
Supercharging doesnt really effect much on MPG. at least the centrifugal ones dont when you drive normally. if you have a BOV (which i dont ATM) i believe it stays open most of the time until you actually hammer it since SC's are constant.
when i drive my AFL is usually at a constant 7-8% on the freeway. same with trottle so im not really doing anything crazy.
could it be the way you drive? lol e.g. starting off on a red light etc?
but yea could be a lot of things. i guess the best way is to just make a list n check it one by one. starting off with new plugs haha

you have to base it on location as well alot of folks with the 300+ tanks are from out of state. in ny we have so much rough/uneven roads, everytime we brake to avoid potholes/stop signs/people etc etc. that all harms our mpg. with all that stop-n-go traffic if im driving 80-90% city in nyc i get 16.xx mpg. if its the opposite where 80-90 is hwy then it jumps up to 18.xx. im on a bone stock gs3 motor as well but with 18's with 36psi all around.
but my gauge does the same, it looks like youll get to 300 mpg easily at the first 1/2-3/4 tank then at the remaining it drops like you have a fuel leak. and goes back to the normal 240-260mpg depending on driving conditions.

All my driving is a mix. Mostly city though. We have terrible pothole problems too. Don't just assume new York is the only place with potholes. I've been a wheel on stock 17s three times in the last 4 years it's crazy.
