Default power dip

I just got a 2002 gs300 with 102k miles.

I hit the gas from a dead stop and the car lunges forward but then a half second after the initial surge, there is a power dip. Is the car changing gears or could this be a problem?

How about if you let it roll a little bit first to like 5mph then punch it.

Check your tranny dipstick...Look at it, If it looks brown or dirty (small metal filings) you could have something going on.

Make sure to Smell the tranny fluid also. If it smell burnt...go to a transmission guy right away!

What happens with VSC/Traction control off? Maybe its cutting in and being a little intrusive.
