hello GS forum, this is uncharted territory for me as im always in the IS section but have been trolling around lately. seen many tastefully modded GS that makes me say DAMMM i want one!

im looking to possibly sell my 06 is350 and purchase a gs400/430 should i? im not sick of my car in fact i love it but seeing everybody and their moms driving one has made me a lil ill. i guess its like having a longtime gf eventhough you love her you dont see yourself with her for the rest of your life and its time to move on. (i know, bad analogy :P)

whats your stance? is the grass really greener on the otherside?

if you wanna keep some of the power get a 430. if you dont care. like i didnt just get a 300. i picked my 99 up last year for 12.3k otd, it had 47k on the odo and was in PERFECT condition. with pretty much brand new interior.


btw your analogy was perfect. thats how i felt with the last 6 cars

i think the quickness is what i dont want to sacrifice too much if i make the transition. just trying to weigh out the pros/cons between the two

well i got mine pretty much base model. i didnt want anything extra. i think the interior is just as comfy if not the same as my IS. the interior layout is awesome. i figure if you went with like an 03-05 gs430 fully loaded you would be more than happy. I liked my GS a lot more than i liked my IS. I only missed vented seats out of my 350. everything else. like more room averywhere in the car. a comfy smooth ride. bigger trunk. the 430 has 300 hp. you would love it if you switched. just drive a few and then report back.

To keep relatively the same power go with the 400/430... There are some great deals out there especially in our classifieds.. GL.... 2GS FTW

I would definitely go for the 430 with black interior. Tan looks so outdated IMO! But yes, the IS is a small car, and even though the GS is old. Its stilllook super sick with the right mods.

question about interior comparison, do you feel like the gs was lacking anything? yes i know the car is 10yrs+ old but i mean like does it feel right?

The 2nd generation V8 GS is the way to go! I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get compliments WHEREVER I go! I have had my GS400 for over 8 years, have a ton of mods on it and an SC kit waiting to be installed. I love the car and you will too when you get one. Btw, my car looks VERY similar to Wicked GS's 2nd pic.
