Ipod touch integration and workaround for tv while driving
Somewhat new back to the GS scene, and I want to be able to watch a movie or something on the screen while my kids watch a movie on their headrest monitors.... And of course have my Ipod play the tunes as well. I have done some searching and it looks like this Vais Tech unit will do the job for tunes, control, etc and I can leave the Ipod in the glovebox and control from stock navi screen. I wanted to see if I am missing something from others maybe those that have IPOD integration already, what are you using and feedback please on your setup...
Self install, ease of install, can control off stock navi display, can you still keep CD changer, can you watch movies while driving, etc...
Mods - if better to open new thread just to see about making front nav screen a TV while driving let me know and I will do that as well....

You wont get a group buy going on through here.
The vaistech units are pricey and you're saying that you need two outputs - essentially you want to listen to music up front while your kids watch their movies/music in the rear?
Why not make it simpler. Install a double din unit up front and get some standalone headrest monitors in the rear with a glovebox or mounted cd/dvd player somewhere in the front or rear? Or just go with the headrests that have the slide in cd/dvd players in them.

Sorry if it was confusing.... I already have tv's in the headrests and a DVD player for the boys.....
I'm looking to be able to control the IPOD touch on the factory screen and controls, as well as play the videos I have on my IPOD touch on the NAV screen also. Does that make more sense.... For others what options have you ran and would you recommend to get this done....

Assuming you have an 01-05 gs, the sl2vi will work. Vaistech has it listed for 03-05 but someone on here used it on their 01 and I use it on my 02. Just have to control the videos through the ipod. The songs are controlled through the factory controls. I'm currently looking into doing a bypass so the video can play while driving.
