They have the sex appeal they are priced right and they will last a lifetime! what more an we ask for!! love the 2nd gen gs!!
im suprised u didn't go for a 3rd gen GS, they're priced in the low 20's now a days if not the high teens

I"m at a point where i'm thinking of getting a new car soon. I'm on a 99 GS4 and i really just love it. Its a daily driver though, and it's got 120K miles and the wear and tear from the kids is showing a bit. Still, every time it comes out of the hand car wash it just looks sexy as hell. When i'm at the muni meter, i look back at it and the side profile is just so beautiful.

The other cars i've been eyeing are E550 4matic, M5 V10, love the CLS but its a re-designed E class that's less practical and more expensive. I'd almost rather spend five grand on remodeling my car then getting a new one. The new E looks nice from the front but it doesn't look special enough - looks like an Accord in terms of blandness. They are also heavy as a tank.

I think the best thing to do is keep this car, and get something else to drive daily. There's just nothing else that's as reliable, Luxurious and classy than the 2GS.

* I do wish the suspension were on the sportier side though.

I'm almost sad to say but I hae a 99gs3, and i'm selling mine. I'm really confused as what I should get, I really wanna keep it within lexus, maybe the new 2gen is or the 3gen gs..but my car is amazing, if i can find another 2gen gs, i'd take it. But just looking around right now, any other cars to look for ?

I'm thinkin about selling mine. Not anywhere near final yet, but it would be nice to have more cash for school and pick up a cheap miata or a 4runner. But then every time I drive my car I look at it reflecting in the windows of buildings and fall in love again.

I tried selling my GS430 about a year ago but decided not to. I bought an E39 M5 but ended up re-selling it to my father because he liked it so much.

I started to think about it, there are not many cars out there right now that have the kind of power, luxury, and reliability to value ratio as a 2GS 430. I can't think of one car in the sub 15k range that can compare to a 2GS. Besides, the car is paid off.... I hate car payments!!!

Sold my car the other day and couldn't be more happy. I liked that car, but it was boring as hell to drive. And I had the GS400. Yes it was nice. Yes it was comfortable.

Lexus needs to start making cars that have performance in mind that are comparable to BMW, Audi or Mercedes. Or hell, something with more than 400hp besides that ISF.
