Default 98 GS300 Dash Lights.

When driving at night, my dash lights will sometime go from bright, to quite dim. And it's mostly when it is cold outside i've noticed.... odd. Could this be a connection issue, or an issue where the adjustable dimmer is going bad?

Thanks!!!!!!

maybe its your light sensors that are up on the dashboard.

^^^^^^ exactly what it is, there is a 2 stage sensor up there one for turning on the lights at twilight when they are set in auto and one for it being daylight and dimming dash lights for instance you are under an overpass where its plenty bright to see but the gauges dont need to be so bright since the ****-pit area (lol) is darker it dims the gauges untill you are in the sunlight again and it brightens them for mid day glare. Atleast thats how mine works. I take it then in your situation that sensor is malfunctioning.

Rgar, & Entryspeed. Thanks so much for the heads up, I really didn't know where to start looking. The Lexus is a pretty new to me and although I am fairly knowledgeable in domestics, I don't know much about imports. Thanks for the help guys, I will get it checked out tomorrow. Is this sensor expensive (wait its a lexus, gotta be...lol) Where exactly on the dash is it?
