@insyder Hi, I have a third gen gs with the mark levinson, and the process of replacing the blown sub seems similar to yours. Was it difficult to remove the stock sub from the bracket? And was your aftermarket sub the same ohm rating as the stock? It says my stock sub is an 8 ohm with dual voice coils with 2.5 ohms on each coil. Would this aftermarket sub work? I made sure to find a free air sub like the oem one. Also, was installing the aftermarket sub on the stock bracket easy? It looks like you just drilled the holes for the speaker to the bracket right and screw it in right? You can buy a sealed box on ebay that will sit under the factory sub and give you much more bang for the buck.

not trying to be a self proclaimed moderator at all. i like how people complain bout people reposting and then the same people complain when i just tell the OP to search YET when i ask them to search and give them examples and show them how to find things like dave asked i STILL am getting gripped at about it. OP this last post has nothing to do with you so dont take it personally it's DEF a lose-lose-lose situation in the 2nd gen section lately ....reading this thread in 2023 glad to be able to find this thread, the search leads here. |
