Yeah i just saw that the rears are not the same .....(back doors open and close just fine but it doesnt turn on the courtesy light ) but i am guessing by replacing the actuators would take care of the problem...what do you think?? since from what i understand the circuits are inside...
the front passenger door opens and closes only had to shrink rap the cable and the driver door opens it 95% of the time but closing it ....well i cant trust it so i always just flick the **** ....

soon ill open up the driver door and see if its a match since it also fits the

i know you said you haven't had any issues with the piece of shrink wrap but eventually you will. i had it on my drivers door actuator for bout 5 months before it just wouldn't lock correctly. nice fix assuming no issues with it, would like to see another member do it and confirm it.

good step in the right (cheaper direction though) although i wish they JUST sold the stupid lock cable as i broke mine and ended up replacing the whole actuator after the shrink wrap stopped holding. i WISH someone would find us a cable that works the same

Ok i see what u saying .....this what happens....if i open the left side back door the light does not go on but if i leave it open for 2 min or so the light will magically come on and stay on but if i close the door and reopen there is no light again for another 2-5min ...as for the right back door ...well i can leave it open for a day ...nothing happens .....please input...also can the switch be bought?

probably cause i have had my door panels off/on like 20 times since they heat shrink wrapped it due to my audio modifications....although im not the only person i know on here whose shrink wrap eventually failed. if we could buy a cable, that would be sweet but as you said most places dont have them. if i had a good toyota junkyard by me i would try and fine one that would work

The switch is molded into the top of the lock mechanism plastic, Its a small micro switch thats actuated by a lobe on the latch. If my memory serves me correctly, when the door is closed the switch is depressed, and when its open the switch is too.

Problem is you have to cut the plastic that secures the switch in order to get it out. Making installing a new switch tough. I have swapped a switch successfuly, its been in my right rear door for two years now. You need epoxy, a steady hand, donor switch, and a dremel with cut off wheel.
