yeah i want a LS badly...went and looked at one lately. i LOVE,LOVE,LOVE my gs but im not digging SOME of the newer crowd lately not to mention i want something even more luxurious and its hard to go wrong with the UL LS460 for me its more about having something nicer. yeah i have done alot and will still continue to but i can always do alot to my LS if i got one. IM not gone just yet john i just am on the fence the last year or so and have been window shopping alot more lately
You know what I mean Brian. I know you spent as much money and time on your GS. So have I so I wouldn't let it go. Honestly, I don't like the 07, but that's just me. I rather get the UL 06 LS430.

I would say keep it. Truth is, cars depreciate. There is nothing we can do about it. Selling my car would be the stupidest thing I could do, seeing how much prices have dipped, and the money I've put into it. The same story goes for ALOT of us here. Hell. I could now afford an LS with the money I bought my GS3 with. Keep it!

Yeah car's are not the best investments at all since they depreciate. Unfortunately and thankfully for me i've put enough money into my car that it wouldn't make sense to sell it, so unfortunately i'm stuck with it. Which really isn't a bad thing at all. At this point in my life i don't see myself ever not having a 2GS. Except in maybe a different color.

Brother I have the same car 02 GS430 Black on Black w/ 133K. I bought it from Lexus in 04 Certified Pre Own for 30. Warranty ended beggining of 2010 year and I've had no issues at all. I have to get a catalytic converter for bank 2 but thats been the only work. I'm not getting rid of my GS until I press the key button and it explodes . I'm about to start doing some mods and upgrades just to keep it looking fly. I've had many ask how much i wanted for it but one I'm not ready for a car note and this thing is rolling like a beast. So its new rims for her this summer and some little tweeks. I say just go buy the other car and roll like a baller.

Everyone has some pretty valid points, but I can't make up my mind. I have had this urge to go out and buy a BMW. My girl just got a 2011 328I and the way the thing drives is incredible. Since I just bought an IS350, I want a bigger car, and a 550I is calling my name. I know the thing won't even come close to being as reliable as my GS430, but this would be a second car so the miles would stay relatively low. I have a lot of thinking to do.

Keep the GS and throw some coilovers on it. There's your BMW.

I'm guessing you're not impressed by the handling. Get sway bars, new bushings, and coilovers. That should be satisfying enough. I don't blame you if you do sell. 550i is a sexy car.

Don't feel bad the same question is pondering me on a daily base. I paid around 27K for my GS back in 05 or so which was a steal of a deal at that time. I remember driving around in my GS less than a year ago and it feels like a million bucks now the feelings is defiantly not there.

I'm in the same position as the OP. I only got 80k miles on my '02 and have a daily driver. I've been wanting something different, something fast and luxurious that I won't need to mod too much. But, then I realize how much I like driving my GS and who knows if I'll like driving the new car as much. Like they say, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Plus, it's nice not having a car payment.

You could go oldschool and save some money. The e46 (even with all their faults) are really nice cars--fun to drive with most of the depreciation taken.

You could get a 325i/330i with a stick for a song say 5-9k and enjoy it as a weekender. The engines won't knock you off your feet but you'll be very happy with the balance and driving feel. These are also good cars to learn on (i.e. how to do small repairs)

Just get an LS430 or LS460. If you want bigger luxurious car.
