Talking Best back up camera position

I am going to put back up camera in my 2000 GS400 soon. Anyone can give me suggestions the best place I should put that camera at? and should I replace the license plate bulbs from yellow to bright white like new lexus has? FYI, I'm using Pioneer AVH-P3200BT now.. Thanks!!

Yes it would. I still think that's the best place for the camera.

I ask the same question as you. We need to see the bumper on the camera so the driver has some kind of perspective for distance.

I have the license plate frame camera and aiming it down. Can't really see much that is far away; except the bumper... which to me is more important.

Yeah I was never a fan of having the BACKUP camera not look at the bumper

In the trunk key hole angled down to see the bumper. Or anywhere attached under the trunk bar, angled down to see the bumper.

A back up cam loses 90% of its utility if you can't see behind you with a perspective to where your rear bumper it to the rest of the world.

This mod is not about looks, but utility.

Completely agree with u PushinLEX. I am puttiing this back up camera to keep my bumper clean. Just worry of the way people park their cars now. I am going to put it where i can clearly see my bumper edge.

What kind of camera did u put on your car? What's the brand? Yeah. I am going to put the camera facing down. Because that's the reason of having a back up camera.

i have mine on the license plate mount so that i can see my bumper.

Back view before adjustment

Rear camera after adjustment. You can see the bumper line clearly

Front camera view before adjustment

Front camera view after adjustment. I have it there so I can see the parking stones as well as how tall certain speed bumps are. The bumper is still off since I got a new one and it is getting some custom work done but when it is on you can see clearly where the lip is in relation to the obstacles.

Both cameras are on a switch so I can view either one when I want on my Avic D3
