Default Whining Noise After 90k Service

Hey guys, i got my car back last night from my mechanic after THREE long days in the shop. I had him doing my 90k service, timing belt, tensioner, water pump, idler bearing, T stat. Everything looked good and sounded good when i first picked it up. Then later that i night i started to hear a very distinct whining noise, almost between like a bad powersteering pump sound and a supercharger sound. But it's noticable and very annoying. Also my car seems to idle wierd when in park, it makes a different noise than it used too(Very hard to describe, sounds like vavles opening and closing?). Do you have any idea what it could be? Could the timing be off? I'm really not happy with this mechanic i've been going too. I'd almost rather go to the stealership and not have to deal with all this hassle.

This is the Timing belt kit i bought:

Does it get softer after the engine is warm? How about when turning the wheel when the engine is first started?

I think I know exactly the valve opening sound that you are referring it. It's not a "clacky", more like a soft "fluump fluump fluump" noise?

Yes it sounds exactly like that. It's wierd because it never really made that sound before. I'll go out and get a video of the sound for you guys.

The timing belt covers might be hitting the timing belt?

Sure sounds like a pump of some sort. My power steering pump sounded like that when I got a hole in the line and air was getting in.

My guess would be a bad ground somewhere or power steering pump noise.

It's weird though, because this noise only started after my mechanic did the timing belt, water pump tensioner, idler bearing install and he didnt touch the power steering pump.

maybe the belt is too tight wich can cause noise,or check for the covers rubbing.

i dont think the timing belt can be too tight (although it could cause a noise if it is) but i think these car have self adjusting tensioner?.

You could take off the accessory belt and see if it still makes the noise. That will tell you if it's one of the accessories being naughty. If the whine stops, you know it's P/S. alternator or water pump.

My cousin had the same exact noise comin out of her gs300 she replaced the timing belt and water pump and that solved her problem i think your mechanic probably messed something up.

you have to remove the power pump pulley, It may not be tight enough Im almost 100% its going to be the accessory belt
