I don't paint...that car was done my by partner at my bodyshop. He's been painting for as long as I've been living...36 years. 90% of a quality job is in the bodywork, prep, and detail afterwards...10%paint

Tools and Paints:
High volume low pressure gravity feeds pray gun Central Pneumatic 1.4 tip from Habor Freight Tools $39.99 for B/C and C/C (base coat & clear coat) with air regulator attached to the gun
Siphon gravity feed gun 1.7 same place $24.99 for primer used air tank regulator
Air compressor be able to handle the guns spec
OEM 2K primer and sealer $80 1qt each
Dupont Cromax Pro Alpine Silver color and controller WB2090 $125 1 pine for color 1qt for controller
Transtar 2.1 Low VOC clear coat 6534/Activator 6877 $50 1qt
All other misc. $50
I did not use any heat to cure the b/c nor the c/c. Just let paint dry flat for overnight before put on c/c. I decided to use Transtar c/c because it did not require any heat to bake like Dupont. Just be sure to let it flash between coat good, otherwise, expect some runs, wave, and yellow peel or fish eye. Lucky, I did not have any of those on my c/c. Yes, I painted with the truck lit up so I made sure that I got the area under the spoiler covered. My mistake was not to put on b/c and c/c the c-pillar at the same time. I think I am going to finish the pillar with c/c or just wet and buff it. Yes, I agreed that the blending was quite a challenge for me. I can still see some light line on the pillar. I put on 1.5 of b/c per Dupont spec. and 4 of c/c which their clear coat spec only required 2-3, so it gave me plenty of room to cut and buff. I like the Transtar c/c. It was easy to use and I let 15 mins flash btw coat and 20mins dust free with 8 hrs cut and buff, but I let it dry more for a few days just in case.
Yes, I leaned a lot about painting and still leaning all the bell and whistle from the pro. Once again guys, thank a lots for your comments, I will keep those statements in mind for next paint project.

Was this car Alpine Silver? Mine is and the paint faded on the top of the quarter panel right next to the trunk and up the pillar. I have to get it resprayed before I sell the car.

Mine, it cost me almost $1500 that's why I decided to go this rout. Get an estimate from the shop around your area and decide. If it costs like $100-$200, let them do it, otherwise, you will spend around $500-$600 for all the tools including the air compressor. Good luck.
