Absolutely. With the exception of the ML Amp, I have never had a problem. I have owned cars that had more power (67 427 Fairlane). I have owned cars that went around corners faster (94 SHO). I have also owned cars that got better gas mileage (V6 Tarurs). I have never owned a car that was as trouble free, quiet and comfortable. I see a lot of things on newer cars that were first introduced on the GS Lex. Some nagging issues, sure but overall these cars are very hard to beat.

$7 /us gal? thats Irish prices!

Here in Ireland petrol is approx €1.30/litre = around $6.80/us gal
Diesel is €1.20/litre = around $6.30

So feeding my gs3 is an expensive habit as its my daily driver!

Actually, I would love to have another GS as a daily driver.

In fact I was looking for a first gen GS (love that design next to ours) as a DD until I found a first gen LS that I could not pass-up on.

I think it is more of a question of when will i buy another 2GS. I had a 99 GS400, sold it to pay for my wedding. Picked up an IS300, and now cant wait to get back into a 2GS. They do say, "Distance makes the heart grow fonder"

I would def buy another one. Mandatory BLACK interior, GS400, 430, or Turbo GS3 all 2Gen.

Although if I had the cake, I'd grab an IS-F

I would definitely look into it. Carfax only shows reported accidents.

Default Would I buy another?

An interesting question. There's all the reasons you bought a GS in the first place, balanced with expectations and outcomes. Was the car reliable? Does it have lots of niggling issues?
I am determined to buy another Lexus in 7 to 10 years (1-year owner of a 2000 GS400). But, I might be looking for another 2GS, as the quality seems to be slipping the newer the car. Another member has said the LS seems better put together than the GS, and often when I drive my car, I think it's just a "Super Toyota." I am sure I'll make my wife crazy over the next few years while I weigh all the options.

I'd probably buy another Lexus, but not a 12 year old designed car at this point. 2nd Gen GS is pretty old already. Even if I get about 19/20 MPG on my GS430, today's cars get the same or more HP and better fuel economy. Repairs are getting expensive as well. One thing that sucks about Lexus cars is the suspension bushings. Those nice soft feeling bushings don't last long at all. Virtually every Lexus I've owned needed busing replacements. No other car I've owned needed to change suspension component. It's just getting tiring already.
