Need help on a part number...l
Posted in Suspension Forum, but thought it might get some more views here...
My friend helped me change out the LBJ's and the outer tie rods last night. When I got back in the car, the ABS, VSC, and VSC Off lights were on. It might just need to be reset, but if the wire got damaged I am going to need to replace it. I found this on the Sewell website, but I'm not 100% sure which part I will need.

It looks like I need either part number 89542 or 89543 due to the location and depending on if it's LH or RH side. The thing that is throwing me off is that they call it a speed sensor. The VSC / Traction Control Relay is located in a way different location and so I don't think I need it. Just wanted to see if anyone could shed some light on this for me.
Thanks!

LoL, knowing my luck it was operator error >.< Ya, I just found that DIY on the repair so hopefully that will be doable. Supposed to go back and check it over tonight. I guess until then I get to practice my driving skills having no VSC or ABS lol.
The sensors measure the revolutions (speed) of the wheels, so try not to get too caught up in what Lexus names it. Just inspect both sensors to discover which one maybe damaged.

Shadow GS4, it's sensor 89542 and 85943 in that diagram. If you messed up both, then you're looking at almost $500 for sensors! If there's simply a break in the wire then you can fix that easily. If you tore the wire out of the sensor head then you have to cut the sensor open and re-attach the leads to the magnetic pickup. It's a much more difficult fix when you tear the wire out of the sensor head. If you're not careful then you can damage the sensor beyond repair. BTW: I can fix those if you send it to me. I've built a jig specifically for cutting and repairing those sensors
Jeff,
Thanks for the heads-up! I read through your DIY and it was very informative even without the pics. I will check to see what the damage is tonight. If possible I will remove the sensor and wire and send it to you. How difficult is it to do. Will the whole strand that runs up into the fender / engine bay need to be sent over? I am a bit of a novice mechanic-wise which is why I had a friend help with the work last night.
