i know i read the toyota japan filters etc WIX
I know they are good and better I change my oil at 3000 miles
and have had cars just using crappy Fram filters still fine
I just wanted to do a upgrade since I am purchasing online but Id be fine with anything
I am going to go with the K&N its a good price and is bigger its more than the USDM toyota filter but I think those USDM filter for the gs400 is very small so i wanted to upgrade from that

I use the YZZD3 on every car in my signature except the alltrac....supra technically has a different one but I run the YZZD3 in it too.

Filters are interchangeable. Tacoma's, Tundra's, basically all lexus', some older camry's, and dodge neon's use the same filter. I currently work at jiffy lube and deal with this everyday.

Yeah, pretty much any filter will work, like it was stated above, I pretty much use D3 on everything minus Corollas and Camrys. The D3 filter is an awesome filter, and it is one of the bigger screw-on ones that Toyota offers. I really don't think it's the size of the oil filter that matters, I think what you should be worried about is the micron rating of the filter screens and oil pressure relief valve specs, and quality of o-ring used might be a better indication of a better filter to use. Even if you go with a massive oil filter, it is likely it is only going to hold an extra half qt., which isn't really enough capacity to be considered a a major benefit... or is my theory just might be off?
