Yes, technically they are called "smoked" but I think it's just the lower portion that's smoked...where the turn signal and reverse bulbs are.

yeah, I have to be honest My wife has a pretty nice camera so it makes my paint look pretty friggin' nice. It's the original paint job and the car was driven in NY state for most of it's life so it does have some serious chips on the hood and the front. The sides and rear look pretty good. It's just the hood that's not too good.

Now about the chrome pillars...All the lines on the car flow from front to back giving the car a sleek look. The designers purposely hide these pillars by making them black and not body color.

So to make them pop with chrome adds this big shinny out of place vertical body line that disrupts the visually appealing horizontal flow of the cars body lines. This is why it is such a unpopular look. Ok I m done.
I never really looked at it that way but I see what you're saying...I'm gonna pay more attention to other GSs and start thinking about the chrome pillars this way. Thanks for the perspective

Did you get the wifey's approval to use the kids as models Zig The pic with the kids is worth having in a frame. Congrats on the new coils; car looks good!

I got them on ebay. Shoot me a PM and I can send you the seller's link. I've been real happy with them. Installation is a breeze and they have resistors included so that they won't set off your "bulb out" dash indicator.

Well, let's put it this way...she was taking the picture so I guess her approval was implied??? MrG, your car was one of my first favorites on here. Thanks for the direction.
