I have a 2gs and i just bought some 19s for it and was wondering what is the widest tires i can run w/o too much rubbing. The wheels are 19x9.5 +28 f, and 19x10.5 +29 r. Im going to lower the car to where the tallest part of the tire is 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the fenders looking from the sideview. The road condition is ****ty around where i live and i daily this car so i want it to be comfortable. Do you think 245/35/19 f and 295/30/19 r will work with all fenders shaved ? If not, whats the widest i can get away with. Thanks in advance.

i just put some 19s on mine and i am running 245/35 in the front and 275/35 in the rear. I put a lil extra meat on the tire for a better ride... but thats jus me

With that off-set you're most likely going to rub with anything above a 245 front or 275 rear. Try 225/40-19 & 255/35-19.

what brand tires stretch good ? I'll probably go with the size u recommend.

Yeah, you definitely need new narrower front and rear tires, shave the rear fenders and roll the fronts. Do not shave the front fenders. Newchapter will tell you why.

Im gonna go with 245 and 275 then. I'll roll front and shave rear too. Thanks guys for the advice. As for tire options, what brand do you guys recommend ? I want something quiet and will stretch good. I know falkens are prety noisy after some regular wear.

Ok i went ahead and installed 245/35 an 275/30 on there. Theres a light stretch with the continentals i put on. Im going to lowered the car about 2.5 inches with some tein coilovers. Im not going for the slammed look or crazy negative camber look either since its my dd. I know you guys suggested that I roll the front and shave the rear, but do you think i can get away with just rolling the rears also ? Or just shave the rears and roll fronts ? Thanks.

Just take the suggested precautionary measures and roll the fronts and shave the rears. You don't want to end up with ruined fenders or blown out tires from gashes to the sidewall. Trust me, this happened to me 2 years ago. Basically, I thought I could get away with not rolling the fronts and ended up throwing away a $200 99% tread tire, buying a new, narrower $200 front tire, and spending $400 to have my fender fixed and re-sprayed.
