Horn issue, same 'ol same'ol.. need some help

I have searched and searched with no solid explaination or resolve. My main horn is not working. I read a trouble shooting guide on another thread and not sure where to go from here

I checked the horns, both work now (replaced one) when I manually power it on. When I press the horn on the steering wheel I get nothing, I don't hear a clicking noise in the rearward most relay box next to the brake booster. I changed the relay (the small one) with some extra's I had laying around. Not sure they work either but I tried 3 others, surely one would be good. The horn will sound with the alarm, so the fuse should be good, right? So I am down to the clockspring, however the auto shift buttons on the wheel work. Wouldn't that mean the clockspring is ok? Is there a stand alone switch underneath the airbag? This, I believe, happened following opening the column up to tighten some screws. The only things unplugged were the A/C temp sensor and the electrictal area for the ignition switch. I saw that there was an empty light plug. It was the one for the lighted key surround, mine has never lit... I replaced it with the one from the foot well. My lighting issue will be posted elsewhere....

Anyway any ideas? This is driving me nuts trying to figure it out! HELP!

First of all, do you have a multi-meter?

The best way to start this is by seeing if you are getting ANY voltage at the horns, if not then go to the relay and see if you get voltage when the horn button is pressed, if you still dont have any voltage then you need to check at the steering column. Should be Green/Black at the steering column, and it will be a negative pulse. So that should also mean that your trigger for the horn relay is going to be negative as well. The factory alarm has a dedicated output to the horn so it wont go through the same relay as the horn button.

Hope this helps.

I will check the voltage. I had hoped that I wouldn't have to pull the airbag off. So this will give me a couple other check and balances to try first. I will post what I find, thanks!

No need to pull the airbag at all! The wire that goes to your horn switch is accessible in the steering column, just drop the knee bolster and it is in the harness. It is the color i told you in my first post, but remember it will pulse GROUND when you press the horn button.
