Whats up CL, just got a GS300...
 

just got it last week from autotrader. needs a good buff to get rid of light scratches, interior looks good except for the floor mats(look brown instead of tan). owner said it was gold package(anything special about it?, other than the ugly gold lettering). carfax stated it was 1 owner, i was :uh: since the guy got it from lexus dealership as a certified pre-owned. he still had warranty from lexus but couldnt be transferred(had 1 month left anyway). only flaws are the tint was poorly put on and makes noise when you roll down windows and some white paint scraped on front bumper corner(hopefully buff will help). owner said he put regular unleaded(can engine be permanently damaged by this? any additive i should add before switching to premium?) also cant find the lug nut key, looked in the trunk in velcro tool kit but nothing(where is it usually?). just got 1 key(should i get a copy?). Its a 02 with 78K and was certified lexus, guy listed 13,500 i was like :eek2:, then went down to 12 and finally settled for 10,500, you guys think i paid too much? cause thats what a friend keeps telling me...

Welcome...not a bad price. Unless I'm mistaken, the gold package is simply gold badging like you suspected. New floor mats are just a bit over $100 from Sewell Lexus. They're a vendor on here and are one of the best dealers for OEM parts and maintennance items. Plus, they offer a discount to us CL members.

My girlfriend hates the gold more than me lol. Want to switch to chrome asap, saw the whole kit on ebay for $30 but saw feedback about poor quality

You should go for the black chrome emblems, they look nice on black cars.

Nice car, and welcome. you did not overpay, your friend may be jealous, you got a good deal man. really came down a lot on price good job. agree with macd -- black chrome, or black pearl badging. black and chrome limits other options IMO. and that front bumper paint will come off very easily, possibly even with your fingernail (i rubbed my garage wall and got paint on the nose, came right off) good luck and keep updating
