Default Trd Lsd Finally Done!!!

Ok finally the differential shop put it in, the guy said it was no problem, nothing new. But he charged me $300 for the install.

I did a little, test. Stop the car, VSC off, brake torque to around 1k rpm, bam launch, I heard one little chirp and vibration and I was gone...thats nice, i usually would off been peeling out longer and maybe even left some smoke.

As far as taking corners at higher speeds or accelerating while turning....not really a difference at all, VSC still kicks in real quick.

All in all, was it worth it? Hmm i dont know if it was, 769 for the unit , 300 for the install.

I say save your chips for something else, might have the shop try to stuff some 4:10 gears, well have to wait and see.

Hmm, interesting. Even on dry pavement the VSC kicks in? Interesting indeed.

J - glad to hear they got it in OK!

You don't have an aftermarket torque converter, do you? With a hard full throttle launch now (pre LSD) like you describe, I'll leave a huge cloud of rubber smoke that makes it hard to see my car from behind it. This is why I want (read that NEED) the LSD. Got to set up an appointment for my install next.

Yeah this unit will definetly help.
This is a must for drag racing, will not really help people who are looking for better traction around turns.

Oh contraire! I'd say it helps just as much if not more in turns, but that's a whole other thread.

You should ride in my GS, out of a turn, under WOT. Mine helps.

Peace

Yeah 410 gears are for the track only ....IMO and It will put alot of strain on the engine .........If you do get 410 plan on staying in 5th gear all the time

I dont think 410's are that steep, i know people with them on mustangs, works well with Superchargers.

I probably wont do it just cuz of the highway gas mileage!

Not from a stop, or exiting a turn, but thanks for the tip Schumacher.
