Default That Dag on Check Engine light is on again

ok so i'm not gonna lie since i got my exhaust and stuff i been kinda pushing my car too the limit but nonetheless i'm still a careful driver. but last nite as i was dropping a date off my check engine light came on. i went to autozone got the code read and it said:

Definition
aaCatalyst efficiency below threshold- bank 2
Probable cause
aa1. - Failed catalytic converter
aa2. - Ignition system malfunction
aa3. - Fuel system malfunction

a friend of mine sed its most likely the catalytic converter but im not sure. the car still runs fine. there is no problem starting up or anything lyk that. but i'm jus slighty concerned. the only thing i added recently was a Skunk 2 performance radiator cap. i dont thnk that culd hav caused the problem but i jus wanna kno wats wrong. any ideas. pls help

How many miles on the car and what year???

On a side note, why the performance radiator cap??? The radiator cap is designed to hold pressure specific to the vehicle... I highly doubt that SKUNK2 has knowledge greater than the manufacturer. I dont think the radiator cap is the causeof your problem, but I think the first thing you should do is put the stock one back on.

Its a 99 gs300 and it has 116000 miles on it.

i got the cap for looks mainly, it also functions to help raise coolant temperature so that the car can get to regular operating temperature quicker. so its mainly a winter thng for now.

I had similer codes once. Turned out to be the MAF. Find a friend to swap yours with and see if it helps.

i dont really hav any friends with GS's but i'll look into that or i may jus clean it later on today. BTW i dnt have it installed yet but i do have a Megan Racing downpipe that i'm going to install soon, wondering if this would cause a code lyk that since it replaces the cat wit a high flow cat?

MAF wont cause that code, 02 sensor code maybe. I would take it too a lexus dealer or toyota and have them hook up a techstream and watch the 02 sensor voltages. That will tell you if its possibly a bad downstream 02 sensor.

Any good scanner can do this. It may be worth finding an independent shop so you don't have to pay dealer prices.
