Default need help with RMM 3-piece spoiler

I need suggestions on installing a 3-piece RMM spoiler. I took it to my body shop and they painted it, but had a problem. the right piece does not fit correctly and they suggested not installing the spoiler until it did.

I spoke to store that sold me the item and they said it was Probably distorted when baked after being painted. They suggested to lay it out in the sun and try again. The left piece seems ok.

Has anyone else seen this before?

It is evident that "Drimweaver" doesn't know what he's talking about. There have been threads were the RMM 3 piece have warped during painting and even after install. I really can't give you any advice without knowing where it is warped at. I guess you're talking about the piece that goes around on the side, correct? My only suggestion is to (if it is not on the top of the piece) put it on taking off the plastic film on the double sided tape and let the sun heat it up to where you can stick it on the car. Keep in mind that that you don't pull off the plastic film for the bottom until it forms itself back correctly. Also, remember, once it's on the car it won't come off without some really heavy yanking, and then I don't think you want take off your paint either. (Make sure that this is what you want to do) Mine during the painting process kind of folded up in the middle at the trunk part. I stuck it on the car and with time the sun did its job and I was able to (stretch) back into place and haven't any problems with it ever since. I don't think you want to spend another $200.00 and some for another spoiler. Have you tried to get the store to take it back and give you another one? I wouldn't think anyone would after it has been painted. Keep us posted.

Thumbs up

RU-INAW and LXOGOOD, thanks for your help. The right piece when mounted has a gap at the bottom, so all parts of the right piece are not touching the corner panel. The reps at RMM also suggested to use the sun to reverse the warped effect. and your suggestion sounds good. I will try when Chicago, IL has some SUN SHINE. Thanks again

Question Any luck on the install????

gs300-101 - wondering how your install went, if you did it yet. I just got mine RMM painted, and I'm anxious to see how it works out before hand. Am I going to have to muster up every ounce of my patience to put this thing on myself?? Very curious. Your experience????

Thanks,
Eric
