I have a master remote, 2000 GS300. I have been going through searches and come up with all kinds of conflicting info.

With my model, I want to buy this key from ebay. Price is right:

Now, I understand I need to have the key cut by a locksmith and the remote transponder programmed which I can do as it comes with remote programming instructions and they instructions are posted. But, is there anything else? does the key need to be programmed???

I have been reading that the ECU might need to be programmed as well?

Also, do I have to reprogram my current remote as well ?

i only have one key for my gs300. looking into getting a better key my remote doesnt work. is it possible to buy another key and get it programmed when my original doesnt work
