Car Smells like gas... What could it be?

injector is not cheap! top bushing is replaceable, bottom bushing is part of the injector. so if the leak is from bottom of the injector then u need to get a new injector. i think u should just order a set of 4 top bushings/seals from the dealer, pull out the fuel rail, replace all top bushings from all 4 injectors, snap the fuel rail back in n go from there. be very careful not to damage the fuel regulator when u remove the fuel rail, have fun.

My '98 GS 400 is having the same gas smell problem intermittently, has done it 3 or 4 times in the last 6 months. Would be interested to know if the injector grommets solved the problem.

well i took the grommets to my mechanic, and turns out that its the wrong part.
the grommets are for higher up. so tomorrow he's going to call the parts department and figure out if the bushing could be purchased separately.
when I went to sewell lexus site, and typed in injector, what popped up was grommet and o-ring...
we will see if the o-ring is what I need instead of a whole new injector... ( I pray not)
wish me luck with it.
and $150 is because he would have to take off the entire fuel rail and everything else they need to disassemble. the injector is under a lot of things.

you need to change the top and bottom o-rings from the injectors. use the top o-ring in place of the bottom one since you cannot order the bottom o-ring alone. I worked on a ls430 where I ordered extra top o-rings to replace the bottom o-rings on the injectors.
