Has anyone successfully taken parts from a 01+GS300 and slapped em into a GS430 to have the tiptronic option? I had a 00 GS400 and now a 02 GS430 and I miss my button shifters....What would be need to do this?

 

Can't be done from my understanding, ECU issues and ULEV II issues.

Its also called "E-shift" not tiptronic.

 

but ive seen a 99 GS300 with all the parts of a 03 GS300 that got Totaled, and his E-Shift works... just wondering

 

Maybe hes running an 03 ECU and stuff too

 

the trans is different also from what I gather....the part number and in "e" designating the e-shift. Sure it could be done but the cost would be high and not worth it. I enjoy my e-shift(99 GS400) but if I had a 300...well, first it would be turboed and then....the 5 speed! Now that would be fun.

 

It seems difficult and expensive to actually make it work. I still can't believe only '01+ GS300s have e-shift.
