Whistling Sound From the Engine

Today it was rainy and wet and upon driving home from work, I started up my car (only 10K miles on my baby).

I head this whistling sound in the engine as I drove out of the lot, I then stopped and I could hear it from inside the car. I stepped out of the car and you could hear it going like crazy with this whistling sound. I even turned off the climate system to see if it would stop.

What do you guys think this is? Sucks big time.

Thanks for your help.

sounds like your belt. Its could have gotten wet while driving in the rain.

Thanks for all your help guys. There seems to be some kind of correlation due to that day was rainy and this sound started at the end of the day when I was driving home. Today it was dry, but I can still hear the sound.

It must be a loose belt, someone even told me to check the steering fluid.

This sucks and I hope it goes away, or else it's back to the dealership.

Thanks again for all your help.

Im pretty sure its your belt, I have the same problem with my car , for some reason the V-belt on the GS gets wet easily, so it makes that whisiling sound ( kinda embarrasing really ). I think when ita hummid and the car is cold it would make that sound too but after the car heats up it should be fine

Biggie,

Thanks for the info and you're probably right. It's been two dry days since the rainy day this all started and I still hear the whistling in the engine, but it wasn't as bad as before. I would have thought that the belt would be dried by now.

Thanks again.

All right the whistling sound is gone!

I guess you were all right, it had to dry out since the belt got wet.

I still don't know why this would happen to our cars, but I guess it does due to the design.

By the way my Sunroof visor is loose and a rattling occurs, but I can deal with that!
