A conservative mod set up for comfort, looks and handling ** Lotta Pics !! **
Hey All,
So many of you all were instrumental in helping me come up with a good compromise of mods to improve looks and handling while maintaining a very respectable level of comfort. Much appreciated !
Am very pleased with how the mods have performed while keeping comfort as a priority. Does it have the level of comfort of a stock ride? No. Is it close? In my book, yes. The Lexus float is no longer present but gives a very nice ride while on the highway and on good roads. A little less comfort is noticed on crappy city streets but I can live with that. Handling improved with the suspension drop and wheel spacers and still within factory specs for alignment to boot!!
Mods are as follows:
Tanabe NF210 springs
KYB-GR2 struts
Ichiba Version 2 wheel spacers, front and rear 15mm, 20mm respectively.
2008 Lexus GS430 18" wheels
Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum 245/40/18 tires
35% window tint
----------------------------------------------
Parts, Shipping, Labor.. mount, balance, alignment...
$2530.00 ( total cost of all improvements above)
I really do feel that this is the best compromise of all for achieving what I set out to do. The mod that most affected ride comfort would have to be switching from 16"s to 18" for wheel size. Still very pleased though. I wouldn't want to go any larger but hey, to each his/her own.
Maybe the only things that I'd still like to add would be a lip spoiler and a Daizen sway bar.
Several pics below for your viewing pleasure. Sorry, the GS was a bit dirty (bugs on front mostly) but was anxious to post.
Thanks to all!!!

$10.00 more dollars on eBay will get this cleared out for you.
Very nice job. The drop leaves little to be desired but that's me. All in all looks great. Nice job Mark. I am a fan of low profile mods that produce a clean almost OEM appearance.

Thanks!! A little lower would have been cool and to my liking but I prioritized in the following order and chose my mods accordingly... 1) Comfort, 2) Looks 3) Handling. I thought if I went any lower, alignment issues / accelerated tire wear would result. Mark

MP, I can't tell any real difference in the ride between stock springs and the NFs except less float. My ride was most affected by going to 18s. With the springs and struts that came after the 18s, I noticed no difference in ride comfort. The only change in my opinion was the more aggressive stance with less noticeable gap between the fender and tire.
