wo wo wo, so please somebody tell me, my parents are about to purchase/lease a GS300 <4 weeks or so?> when the other stupid car lease ends, so is it or is it not recommendable to do so??????? ahhhhhhhhhh Im confused.....
Here in So Cal I see alot more BMW's & MBZ's than I do Lex's. I am not knocking those other brands, but they are far more common to see along the pacific coast hiway than any GS. When I do see a GS, my head turns...but it is far less frequent than all the BMW/MBZ's one see's.
Back in Feb at my local Lex dealer, they had no GS430's on the lot and only 3 GS300's present. I was told at the time by the sales associate that Lexus cut back on overall production after the 9/11 tragady and quickly built up a hefty backlog of orders, hence no cars on the lot....or so goes his explanation...
Bottom line is that if the public doesn't like the new lines of any re-designed GS series...and that could happen, then the 2nd gen GS's will retain alot of value.......
When deal with buying/leasing a new car, my take will be go after what I like and enjoy to drive. Unless there will be a month or two before the new generation car arrives, I will not consider to wait for next new ones, because there will never be a end, it will always something new and better in the pipe line. Especially with GS300, you won't see the new one for another year and half at least, and there won't be one for 2003 model year either. If you like the one today, then go for it.
That is just my two cents. Happen shopping and motoring
