It's about time to introduce myself

Ok guys, I've been lingering on this forum for a few months now but never introduce myself. I picked up a 99 black on black gs300 with only 92k when I picked her up, of course I have a bit more now around 107k. All in all I love this car.

Only problem I have with the car is the loud clunking sound when I reverse and have my wheel slightly turn and put it into drive moving forwards a little, or when I lightly push on the brakes and have my wheel turn alittle moving forward. I searched and came up with it being ether the uca, balljoints, or even the brake kit. Wanted to do all the required maintenance b4 I started modding. Also what other things should I do since I'm at 107k now. Thanks any input would help me out tremendously.

Welcome to CL and enjoy your GS :thumbup:
With that mileage, water pump, timing belt, cam seal, crank seals, thermostat, and balljoints. I am sure other will chime in and suggest more. Good luck with everything. :)

Also check out the DIY thread it has many things that will help you;

Welcome fo CL!

My immediate direciton would be to do the lower ball joints and/or upper control arm. OEM should do the job for you without going to high performance parts like Cusco, etc. Since you're here in VA there are a couple of options to have your car serviced, I used Pohanka for alignments, "factory" work, and anything I would consider to be Lexus specific (Thomas and Robert are the best service consultants, Jutley is a world shaker as far as a mechanic). Other than that, for performance stuff I use www.vipgarageonline.com, they're the folks installing my SC in the next couple of weeks.

Oh, don't rule out your bearings being bad. I've needed to touch all four corners in the past 18 months.

Again, welcome and let me know if I can help. I have lots of spare parts sitting around :D
