Default Best way to shift car in the 1/4?

Taken my car to the track tonight. Need to know what is the best way to shift the car. Do I just leave it in basic drive and go or use the paddles OR drop it in low and shift it manually?? Also is there any other little secrets to know??

Thanks

What track are you planning to take your GS too?

I am guessing mid to high 14's with the heat the way it is here in the midwest. A couple of stock GS4s have been out there before and ran 14.7 consistantly.

I will post soon as I get back. Plus I am taking video that I will post...

IMO...

Turn off your AC.

Power mode, VSC off. Do not shift manually or gate shift.

Do not roll through the water if you are just using your street tires. Do not burnout.

Brake torque up to about 2300 RPMs before launch if possible (some strips do not allow this).

Where exactly are these two race tracks? As you can tell, I have never tracked my car!

Was not planning on going threw the burnout box. Would do no good with my street tires. Everything else was what I was going to do. Only question I have is by brake torque do you mean "power braking" ?? If so my tires will start to spin at about 2100 rpm, so should I still go to 2300??

Thanks.

What DaveGS4 said. Yes, he means power braking. I ran a 14.7 in 90 degree heat a couple of months ago with the spare and my car fully equipped.

You might want to do a quick burnout or two to clean your tires, but not in the water

Make sure your motor is cooled down a bit between passes.
