Default Instruction for Factory HID Bulb Replacement

After seeing quite a few CL member strugle on obtaining instruction for replacing HID bulb, I decide to write up a quick instruction.

I also had a hard time finding answer when I was doing my HID bulb change 3 month ago. Post 2 thread and receive no answer..

No more... I took a few picture today.. some pic came out blur.. due to not much room to work with.. well better than no instruction and picture right? Right!!!!

Here is the first pic.. remove the grey plastic cover.. clockwise.

Remember Boys and Girls.. proceed with caution. I am not responsible for your screw up. Instruction is for information purpose.

Oh.. Yeah.. Disconnect the POS from Battery.

2 scond step: Once the gray plastic cover is removed. You will see a metal housing with thick metal wire coming out of the housing. Remove the metal housing by placing finger on Top and bottom. Carefully wiggle the top off. The bottom side of the metal housing used it like a hinge. One the top side is loose, the pull the metal housing out.

Once the metal housing is removed, you will see the wires that attach to the D2R bulb. Remove the electric wire harness by twist it clockwise, then pull outward.

Once the electrical wire harness is removed. You will see that the bulb is held in place by two metal wire holder.

The metal wire holder acts like a u shape... with bottom part of U shape used as a hinge.

The metal wires comes up from both side on the top. They are actually slide under a hook. To release the metal wire, gentally push in the metal wire tap.. and slide them to the side.

Do the same for both side of the metal wire... now the bulb should come loose. Carefully remove the factory HID bulb with the new 6K bulb. Revese the instruction step by step..

Key to successful swap bulb.. small small hand...hahahahaha

Many thanks for the write up and pics. I've been considering the 6ks recently; this should make the exchange process much easier.
