Default 01+ Gauge cluster

Hey , can someone post a pic and point out the differences, please. I saw the 01+ cluster on carson as an upgrade for the 98-00's , but it looks exactly like mine?

01+ has a sleek silver face as opposed to a face that looks like fake leather.

A search is your best bet. To save you time, though, the all-black, textured-like-the-dash rounded cluster from 98-00 looks much older than the 01+ smooth black, crisp-edged with silver rings cluster.

Ok, one more thing. In a recent post someone posted that the sport designs had a brushed aluminum accent option, is this true? If so is it possible to purchase these pieces?

I don't think that's true, but do a search for "SportDesign" and there's a thread that lists all of the differences between us schmos and the SportDesigns.

im about to buy it also as i have a 99 GS300. The difference is day and night. the 98-01's blend into the dash too much.

Can people confirm that its a plug n play right?

Grab one online from a place like Carson, or do what I did--look for an 01+ GS for sale at a schmo car dealership. Go there and tell the schmo, "hey--I'll give you $50 if I can swap the trim!?" He'll scratch his head and say, "uh, sure...I guess so."

Or, if your morals are riding the fence, test drive the thing and swap em quick...the schmo would probably not notice.
