Dinged at the Gas Station
Man, I was filling up at my local Chevron. The freaking gas pump was in my car when some idiot lady just cruises up behind me and makes contact with my car.
I was livid. She didnt even realize that she hit my car until I notified her. Anyways, the license plate took off about a dime's worth of paint on my bumper, and nothing else.
I got her insurance info, but I feel like an A hole claiming. But all my friends tell me its about the principle. She was acting pretty cool about it too. Should I claim just based on principle because she hit me, or just suck it up?
I mean, if I do call the adjuster out, they might see the damage and just start laughing at me. Can I make a claim even for minor damage when its unequivocally the other party's fault?

I say get a quote from a PDR guy or Professional Detailer on a repair and then give her the option to pay out of her pocket or have her insurance do it. just don't wait too long.

Report the damage to the woman's insurance company.
One time when a person (woman talking on her cell phone in stop-and-go traffic) merely "tapped" my rear bumper, her front license plate screw put a hole in my rear bumper which cost about $900 to fix at a professional body shop. The total cost was over $1100 by the time I got a rental car to drive while my car was repaired.
You might as well get the damage fixed. A side benefit is that you might get other existing blemishes fixed.

If you go through the other persons insurance (the person at fault), you won't be charged a deductable. Just contact her insurance company, explain the situation, they will either estimate the car, or have you get an estimate, and they will cut you a check. (I live in Ohio where people don't know how to drive, so I'm pretty familiar about how to deal with insurance companies lol).

Claim it, and be prepared to see if you can find a witness... you know, just in case. Also most likely you'll be painting the whole rear bumper, so it's a few bucks...
