DIY Video: Magnefine Power Steering Filter Install
Hello all,
My friend who owns a 2001 GS300 was experiencing some power steering problems. There were all sorts of noises and it really just sounded like the power steering pump was crapping out. I recommended for him to flush the power steering fluid as a first step, and then take it from there. He decided to go ahead and have me install a Magnefine power steering filter for him and I'm not sure if it was the flush or the filter, but the end result is a very well operating power steering system with no noise :) I will post the video up after it is done processing on youtube - stay tuned. |
here's the link to the video. A "watch in high quality" option should be come available shortly - I encourage you to use it.

It's normal for the rack, pinion, PS pump, hoses.. all those items to wear as a function of time and use. All that stuff floats around and starts causing problems later down the road. Best thing to do is put one of these on right when you get your new car, and keep it on. Sure, you can just keep the OEM fluid in there forever, but the performance and exponential wear you will incur is not worth it. |
I installed one of these power steering filters on my G35 also:

ah ok

I don't work directly for the company but I keep in close touch with the owner of the company and I stock the product and provide install. I am located in San Francisco. |
Nice work

The forcefield pre-filter is a lot less ghetto than the harddrive magnets I have strapped to my oil filter.
