Default Help!! Help Me Make A Decision

hey guys im new to the game, so i found a black on black gs300 2001 clean title for sale, everything is clean inside and out, 74,000 miles. he has a navigation system and mark levingston system. hes asking for 14,000. whats a good price to offer??? help me out thanks

well he's asking 14k so you dont want to insult him by going too low.


the fact of the matter is, there are 430's 01 and up going for 14k. That GS is worth 12 and the guy probably knows it and is just trying to make a quick buck.

look up a few trade in values, DONT EVER put a car through as being in top condition as only 5% of used cars actually fall into that category. then, assess your offer from that.

if your values come back around 13, then offer 12 (which is a good buy). In that case, he'll either take it or you can walk him back up to 13 at the most making it seem like he still wins.

if the values come to 12, offer 11 and when he gets pissed show him the blue book values as proof. then, again, walk him back to 12 at the most and he feels like he won.

you see the pattern here? i used to work in a used car department at a major dealership, so i know what these guys try to pull and the tactics to use to get around it.
