An answer to the age old Wind Guards/Pillars question.
Ok so I asked around about if carbon fiber pillars with fit with the JDM rain guards and got both answers. So I finally sucked it up and bought the pillars so I could test. I got the real carbon fiber UV gel coated ones. They are the perfect fit and cause of the angle of the car when light hits the weave it looks amazing! At night it looks super OEM and clean/classy. My old pillars were pitted and starting to rust so this was a wise choice. So did it work.......
Yes... and no. From a distance they look perfect.....
From closer up they are flush like a toliet.....
But if you look at where the visor attaches to the pillar..... (look at the reflection of the camera cord and above it)
There's about 1mm gap thats a good inch and a half long. I went to the car wash and water ran down the gap when the car wasn't moving. I took some black silicone on a toothpick and carefully filled the gap. Now it's perfect!
These carbon covers were very thin, which helped alot. The chrome Junction Produce pillars I can't imagine fitting with the visors working %100. Not to say it wouldn't LOOK right, I just don't think it would FUNCTION %100 right.
So there you have it, hopefully this is helpful to anyone thinking about this combo.
