I get 19 to 20 around town. "Town" being 7 mile highway drive from my house to get to town. Depending on how I drive on the highway, mileage can be as low as 22, (Eastern Oregon state, 50+ miles of straight road, no traffic and cruising at 110 MPH) to as much as 26 driving 65. At my usual cruising speed, which is the posted limit +5 MPH, I get 24 to 25 at 75 MPH.

Your mileage may vary

Wondering how you guys takes the MPG of your car...
Mine GS4 never go over 17.3 combined, driving with measure and 60-70% highway. (new SPlugs and throttle cleaning)
My wife car Lexus ES300 (2003 with 46k mi) is around 20-22 (6cyl) My Integra 93' 24mpg (4cyl 1.8)
The new 2008 Scion is 27.5 (combined) real life, rated by Edmund's

How is possible that you get 22 in city... or 27 in HW??? Are reading the computer readings??
The correct way is filling the tk, reset the odometer to 000, run the car as always and when filling again taking the odometer reading and divided by gals from the pump. This will give you the correct mpg.

Is your GS4 are giving more than 20 combined, your car needs a very exhausted revision to be share between us. We gladly want to know how to obtain more MPG to overcome a little this energy crisis.

Cruise control on highway, and snow mode in the city, and coasting whenever you can.

Yes, this is what i do, in fact. i round down if it comes out to say 22.1 - 22mpg.

Well...i do have the stock PS 16's And low rolling resistance tires (Pilot HX MXM4)

Simple, SLOW DOWN.
It also depends on the terrain where you live, if there's a lot of hills don't expect to consistently get 20+mpg all in-town, the kind of gas being served in your area. Altitude is also important.

New record for GS4! (Maybe)
Just did 340 miles on 12.6gal (27mpg)

The first 145 were all highway, next 195 were 70 city/30 hwy
or about 58hwy/42city for the tank

This was achieved using non-ethanol blend 92 octane premium, about to see how we do on 10% ethanol 93 octane

16.75 MPG with 10% ethanol mixed premium fuel. All city driving, 30psi tires, cleaned MAF,cleaned TB,fresh oil + tranny fluid, clean oem air filter. i can def. see higher range if i drive highway mix miles or highway alone.

30psi in the tires is your problem there.

mine are in the 38psi range, and when hot are ~40psi give or take

I also do a lot of pulse and glide, and in general, driving like my brakes are out. (Relax, they aren't)
Following the speed limit helps tremendously.

Since I cleaned the MAF and air filter, I've been getting about 23MPG/Mixed. That's 360 miles off a full tank (16.xx gallons).

30 PSI will give a very soft and comfortable ride, however with higher pressure (still within tire manufacturer's specs) you will achieve lower rolling resistance, longer tire wear, and better mpg. You will sacrifice a small amount of ride quality but gain more than you lose in the improvements in the other parameters.
