Need Help: Side LED Mirror's
 

I've been looking for the LED Side mirrors for some time now. I would like to do the "exchange type" I'm not crazy about the double-side type stick on Mirror covers. Can anyone help me find who selles them here in the states or who can get them from Japan.

I receive a couple of JDM magazines like VIP Style & VIP Car you can find them in the magazines but most of them are the stick on type.

im in the same boat as you are... but its hard bro i think what im going to do it just buy the stick on type then epoxy the mirrors on then bring them to a body shop

I was also in the same boat as both of you. I got a hold of some custom-made fiberglass shells (made for 98-00 2GS)...bought authentic S-Class LED blinkers...swapped out my 2001 side mirrors units with 2000 year set....added alot of sweat equity....sent it out for painting....and this is what I got. :D See my gallery for more pics.

I just got the LED covers from Japan and they kick ass! The fit is perfect and they look great!

Pete, why did you have to swap them for the 2000 mirrors?

As stated above...the custom-made shells are made for 98-00 2GS.

Lexus changed the design of the side mirrors in 2001 and up....mounting points of the side mirror motor to OEM shells are different....so my 2001 motor mounting points would not fit the shells. Lucky thing was the 98-00 sets was plug and play to my 2001 socket pins...everything works like normal.

please share with us your LED mirror covers, are they stick on type or the exchange type?

I found them on EBAY for my 2IS. It was molded to fit the car and they painted it for me. Search and see if you can find it. If you cant PM me and I will get on my Ebay to find out who the seller was.

They have quite a few for sale. It says that it's for the 98-00 GS but it's a cap so hopefully it won't require swapping out the mirrors like Pete had to do.

i believe those are for the IS. And the ISs in Japan and those in U.S have the same mirror fitments. The GSs in Japan and U.S have different mirror fitments so the LED mirror caps on ebay will not fit the U.S GS 100%.
but if BIGVIPness says he ordered some and they fit 100%, i implore him to share with us..

Unfortunately, all caps I've seen don't cover the entire side mirror housing...also you need to run the wire for the LED blinkers somewhere...probably drill a small hole to the OEM shell.

I would like that LED mirror more if the signal light was flush with the mirror casing.

or just use these lil glass tid bits from ORIGIN :D

Since a couple people PM'd me I took some pics.

This is the mirror. It comes in 2 parts. The inner snaps into place. No gaps, perfect fit. 3M tape is ok but i'm going to add a blob of panel adhesive to the backs to get them on there.

I'm going to delete the orange turn signal on the side of the front bumper and wiring the mirrors into that.
