Default can i keep still have a comfrtable ride...

what up all my lexus heads I'm new to the Luxury style rides
I've been a Honda head for some time now and it's time i switch up speeds and try something different! Enuff about me I currently own a 96 GS 300 bone stock and I was planning on getting some 20" Sporza Lux rims, & I wanted to lower it about an inch to give it a nice look will the ride get extremely stiff and rough with this combo? Hollah back!

P.S. where can I find some hot body kits for my ride?

The sales person at the Lexus dealership told me flat out, that 20inch rims Destroy the shocks on a Lexus, He told me it causes alot of problems down the line, but if u have some extra money to throw in some new Pressured Gas shocks then 20's would look great, But for a good ride as well...18's would be the best to go, or maybe 19's in the back and 18's in the front, sorta make the car look like it's on a slight angle....

I think no matter what you do with those big wheels it's gonna get rougher and rougher the bigger you go as well as the road noise increasing. But if thats what you want then go for it!

Welcome Redman 9000, since you're from Honda-land (like me), you'll appreciate the fact that your GS lowered 2" to 2.5" on 20's will ride better than a stock honda on 17's!

Personally, 20's on the older GS's looks rather large (in a bad way). I think 19's would look better...but that's just my opinion...if I had a JZS-14x GS, I'd do 19's...20's fit the newer style GS's (JZS-16x) much better...

As for the choice of wheels, you might want to do some more research before you dump money into not-so-good wheels...check out the wheels forum here...

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/for...?s=&forumid=76

The older GS's can be modded to be a REAL looker, but please don't mod like it's a Honda...consider the caliber of the car...are you going to do any other mods like more suspension parts or forced induction? 1" drop may not be enough...why not going with coilovers?

Looks like the Approval kit with a custom grille...looks extra mean with the black wheels! The only that sucks about the kit is the rear bumper...it's way too high (you can almost see the entire exhaust setup) on the older GS's...looks better on the newer GS...

Here's the kit on the JZS-16x...

yah Approval kit looks extra mean in black/black/black everything

I like the Approval kit for 16x. It's like those racecars with the plastic cover over the huge foglight

ive been looking at this kit for a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
time... its really a nice look... but it doesnt compromise drivability very much, its low and the huge wing probobly cant take much abuse.. if i was to get this kit i would seriously look into a 2nd trunk with a different wing! hahhaha

but i really love this kit.

Two kits that Im really diggin right now are the Wald kit and The Arms Design.I may go for the rear and sides of either of the two.Redman one kit I like for the pre 93-97 gs is the Kazz sports. It ia a very aggresive kit.
