Question for y'all.
After reading this thread, I got a can of spray; CRC Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner (No. 05110) and read through the steps on the back... #10 DO NOTuse on vehicles with Karman-Vortex air flow , e.g. Toyota Supra Turbo, Mitsubishi, and most Lexus vehicles.
I found the answer on a toyota celica as well as prius forum which have the same part number. The 05 LS 430 has a hot wire sensor which is OK to use the CRC spray.

anyone know the 06 gs430's MAF,is it hot wire type?
and I know for sure above info about Supra turbo been Karman-Vortex is wrong
(hot wire) NA Supra 2JZ-GE as in IS/SC 300 indeed are Karman.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm planning to clean out my MAF and TB this weekend. From what I read here the 430 TB is electronically controlled. Could it be cleaned, like really get in there with my finger? Would hate to find out something broke when all said and done. Thanks

I have cleaned my 430's TB several times without an issue. I spray the cleaner on a cloth and then use my finger inside the cloth to clean the TB. The first time I did it I had to use a tooth brush on a few spots but it all comes off really easy now.

I cleaned my TB and MAF sensor today on my '98 LS and oh what a huge difference. Ever since I had the car the idle never seemed right compared to my past '95. When I started her up it actually idled @ 1100 rpm which is normal for cold start and then drop back down to about 500 rpm after she warmed up.

Was getting around 14 MPG lately on my 2000 GS400 when it used to be higher (16 1/2 or so). Broke down and did the MAF and TB cleaning. MAF was filthy the TB not so much. First 1/4 tank average is now around 17 MPG. Nice gain from an easy DIY.
