Default Agravating Seat belt Twisted :(

ok got my new gs 400 and the drivers side seat belt is twisted. I hate that. There has got to be an easier way to get it right. I fold it over and with all my might get it slid through and its still twisted. surely there is an easier way. Let me know if i can unbolt it at the bottom or something to straigten it out. Also how can you make the tension stronger on them to pull the belt back after you take it off?

as for twisted, basically the only way is fold the belt and pull the buckle, make sure fold at angle

So you mean your buckle on you seatbelt was facing the wrong side right? there's only 2 sides...

Or if you actually meant the belt itself facing wrong, start from the bottom bolt beside the seat and trace it back, and keep pulling the seatbelt out to it's longest and you "should" find the twist, if not, open up B pillar if it's the fronts... and just see what's wrong.

i have the buckle part that you pull to click in facing the right way now. but it is still twisted at the bottom. Seems like i need to twist it a coulple more times, but it is really hard and agravating. Im also afraid that I could be twisting it the wrong way and making it worse.

I finally found an easier way to remove to fix this. I pushed seat forward and there is an access port to the seat belt end. It used I beleive a 14mm or 15mm. It was very tight to get off. It had some time of lock tight on it. I just unbolted it and twisted it till it was straight. Put some lock tight on in and torgued it down. Now if I can get it to retract better I would be a happy as hell.

I'm also having a front seat belt problem. The front seat belts should be mirror images of each other and they are not. I'm not even positive which side is wrong. When the belt is hanging loose from the shoulder attachment, with no twists in the belt above the buckle, should the buckle hasp be toward the inside of the car or toward the outside? On my car one is inside and one is outside, which is definitely wrong. The belts are not twisted, it just seems that one of the buckles was installed the wrong way around. If it were possible to just slide the buckle off the end of the belt and flip it around the problem would be solved. Unfortunately the slot is the buckle is so small that it cannot be slid down past the end of the strap where it is doubled to form the loop that goes around the floor anchor. I don't want to rip out the stitches and have to resew them after correcting the buckle orientation. The only other possibility is to remove the belt from the inertia reel. It doesn't appear that it is doubled at that end but I have no knowledge about how the strap could be detached from the reel, the buckle orientation corrected and the strap reattached to the reel. Does anyone know how to detach the strap from the inertia reel?

Speaking of seat belts... I prefer a seat belt where portion across the hips is fixed (cannot slide) which was the case before shoulder belts. This helps to keep you in place when driving (my SC300 corners very well). I found a solution. It is possible to buy clips that can be fitted to the belt adjacent to the buckle that prevent the strap from sliding through the buckle. These are sold to be used when attaching a car child seat using a seat belt, where is is also necessary to prevent the belt from sliding through the buckle to hold the child seat firmly in place. Stores that sell child car seats and accessories is the place to shop for this item.
