I searched but couldn't really find the answer that I'm looking for. The question is....What is the different between H-brace, Strut bar, and Sway bar??? Do I need all three to stiffen up the ride and have better handling? I currently dont have any suspension mod and want better handling but smooth ride is also important to me. Thanks.

First, you should look into a suspension system to put on your car. There are too many to choose from and I personally use Bilstein with Tanabe NF210 springs. Second, after choosing these you would look at the strut bar's to reinforce your body. Sway bars can be added, Daizen or TRD, to stiffen up your vehicle when cornering, causing the vehicle to remain flatter under cornering. You could also look at an A brace in conjunction to your H brace to further stiffen the body while driving. Doing all of this will cause your car to become more reinforced then the unibody construction would allow without these in place. Originally Posted by dtran023

Forget the smooth ride. Adding all of this will definately decrease your smooth ride quality. Good Luck.

The standard Lexus suspension is designed for superior smoothness. I wouldnt touch it.
One thing I found helped were low profile tires. The combination of cushy Lexus ride and cushy tires makes the body lean worse. If you go with low profile tires, then things are much more predictable.
If you want smooth ride AND great handling, you have to go big German sedans, the BMW 7-series being perhaps the ultimate combination of luxury and performance.

For starter, the braces and bars do not help as much for handling as new sways and springs/coilovers.Originally Posted by dtran023

If you want to increase handling while maintaining a smooth ride, look at the Tein CS coilovers or the Tanabe NF210/KYB (spring/shock combo). These 2 setups are almost OEM soft, but with less float.

If you want look and a soft ride, get yourself a set of Tanabe NF210's and put them on your stock struts. You will get the lowered ride with better body handling, but keep the OEM ride softness. Then get the strut bars to stiffen up the rigidity of your vehicles body. This is the way to go and you can find them cheap on the classifieds forum.Originally Posted by dtran023
Thanks you all for the replies...i will try the strut bar first and go from there.
