Default Shifter Stuck in Park? Any ideas?

My 99 GS300, shifter is Stuck in Park, and can not move.

I was told it might be a sensor, any ideas what I can do to fix.

Thanks!

Have you tried pressing in the release [while simultaneously trying to pull the shifter out of park] that's to the left of the gate?

most of the time, one of ur fuse is popped. ex: horn. that will make ur shifter stuck. forcing u to replace the fuse before u move on.

When that happens to me, I just pump the brakes and try to shift until it moves.

Probably gonna be your brakeswitch. Should be located on your brake pedal stem or arm.

LOL. I was gonna ask if your brake light works. If your brake lights work, then it might be the Shift Lock Control ECU.

Good luck!

He was probably referring to like a brake light fuse or **** control ecu fuse....something to that extent.

yeah, it's mostly safty related fuses. horn, brake, lights etc. not sure exactly which ones will cause the shifter to get stuck. but i know horn for sure, because that happened to me about 6 month ago. i got freaked out lol. but once i replaced the fuse, everything works normal again.

I have the same problem with LS 430 . To release the gear from the park I have to pump the pedal than it will get released and brake lights turns off when I press the brake completely.
