Well my car is rattling, prob like many of yous. I did the steering rack tightening mod, but it doesn't seem to help much. It kinda shakes from 60-80, but the whole car shakes (you can see it in the headlights at night when I'm driving against a divider and you can see the beam shakes up and down) more when I brake between that range.
Anyways, I've been riding the G35 wheels for about a year now. I notice how everytime I take it apart and retorque the studs the wheels are wobbly because there's some free play.
I had some hub centrics from the Volks off my Supra but those are too big somehow. I was wondering if anyone with G35 uses hub centrics, and what are the dimensions of those?
It goes on the inside of the wheel to tighten up any free play for those who don't know. Here are some pics.

i've never used hubcentric rings on any of the cars i've built. i could always track down the shakiness to a bushing or worn out joint. maybe yer joints or a bushing needs replacing?

I've always used hubcentric rings if the wheel bore and hub lip are of different size (sorry I don't know the exact terminology). Ever since I read on Soarer Central about this guy busting 3 of of his studs while his entire wheel comes off and car crashes to the ground, I've been a little paranoid, besides it is only $15 for a peace of mind, pretty good investment I say.

Toyota ones? You mean Lexus ones? Meh whatever... nah I just took the centercaps out. The centercaps from the G35 was really really small and I couldn't find anything that works. Some members have shaved down the Infiniti label and bondoed and repainted the centercap. I don't want to go through the hassle.

That would explain why the rings I had from my Volks were too big for the G35 rims.

I have had an issue with my gs35 19" without hubcentrics rings, am am using kics lug nuts and they still would not center up right. So i was forced to buy the rings in order to stop the wobble that I was getting. The only problem is that for the g35 wheels the hub bore is 66.01 and for our cars is 60.01, this is a rare size after all of my searching and calling I have only found one company that sell rings in this size. They are a little expensive but they are aluminum not rubber, so in my opinion it is worth the price. After I got them on I have no wobble. Btw I am on stock suspension , maybe that is why i notice it more than people with aftermarket. Anyways here is the link to what i purchased. http://www.1010tires.com/hubrings.asp

Although tapered or cone type lug nuts may assist in centering the wheel, the entire weight of the vehicle is resting on your wheel studs, which is bad. Basically the hubcentric ring's main purpose is used to hold the weight, whereas the studs and lugs should only be holding the wheel against the hub.
