Are there any material differences between a 1998 and 2000 GS400?

Things like added standard features (safety, performance or otherwise)...

check msn, yahoo autos and even kbb. the net has a bunch of research engines you can engage.

your question is a bit vague, but, off the top of my head:
you have 300 (I6), 400(v8), and 430(8)
std and options: hid, nakamichi, ML, nav... check the net
think abs is std on all.
performance-the I6 is about 1.5 sec's slower than the v8's in 1/4 and 0-60, roughly. mpg is about same on all.

I am asking what is the difference between a 1998 GS400 stock with standard options and a 2000 GS400 stock with standard options?

a big difference is assisted brake boost on the 2000.
