98 gs300 door lock problems

98 gs300 door lock problems
Sometimes they work sometimes they dont,drivers side rear only unlocks wont lock I have to do it manually. when I push lock or unlock I can hear the relay but the locks just move a little wont lock or unlock. tried doing it with the remoteit beaps but dosent lock. but if I start the car and turn it off then it works. has eney one had this problem. could it be the switch, relay ? please help thanks

sounds like the cable might be sticking. Try taking off the door panel and check that the cable is properly insterted into the groove and grease it up a lil with litium grease. If that doesnt solve you problem might be door lock actuators, these are a common problem with the gs.

To confirm, it is more then likely going to be your door actuator. That's just the first sign of it going out. The DIY post is very informative but there are steps such as taking the mirror and glass out is not necessary. I've changed all four of my actuators out already and never had to touch those parts. Good luck.

Buddy, I don't write up DIY posts, sorry, but I DID replace mine's just fine without removing the glass. If you were here in Houston, I'll replace your's for free while you write up a new DIY.
