Took me less than 2 seconds. It's fantastic now! The trunk feels so much lighter.
this actually doesnt work for me....i EVEN drilled my own holes to add more tension and spring it open more but due to the weight with my dynamat it still wont hold itself open
That stinks. I did take my spoiler off once and the trunk would pop about half way open on the stock setting.
yeah it happens though. i almost decapitated the GF last night while she was loading stuff in the trunk i took my hand off forgetting it wouldnt hold and luckily i caught it before it fell and she never even noticed....GAWD i would have NEVER heard the end of that.
someplace there is a thread on here that shows someone drilling their own holes also but im to lazy to look for it today

If this doesn't work, you may need new torsion bars. Just like gas struts, the torsion in these bars start to fade after years.
Especially if you had non-spoiler bars, and you added a spoiler added afterwards. You can find the OEM parts for sale in the parts diagrams.
i wonder if thats real, its just a bar so i dunno....will look at it l8r when im in the trunk
Yea, I replaced mine about 5years back, and started at the loosest hole, they're starting to lose tension again, so need to start moving down the holes- currently on the middle hole and probably need to move to the lowest hole soon.
I used the diagram from parts.com which shows the part in the catalog easily. I'm sure Sewell's diagram should have the parts as well if you like them.
