Thought about doing the sides too but I didn't want it too look all chrome getto'd out. Guys be sure to do the top of the ribs and just around the corner of the rib. The radius will shine like a mother funker. 19" rims didn't put a smile this big on my face compared to this 4 dollar mod. Something about doing it yourself that feels good.

Very cool 2SAVVY...I will attempt it today. Got a 24 hour Home Depot nearby...sort of.

So I guess just strip the top paint only. You didn't do the sides right?

Yup eppan I just did the tops of the ribs and left the sides black.. I was looking at my old brochure of the GS when we got ours and noticed a Black GS in the brochure has the grill chrome.. Looks like at the last minute they decided to paint it black for some strange reason.. Like enginyr said it looks so much better with a hint of chrome..

Anyways I scanned in the pic of that GS in the brochure for you all to look at..

Thanks for the info. I will do this over Christmas and post pics of my outcome. Since I have the black badges I think the chrome grill would look nice with it.

haha... enginyr beat me to it!!! good job too. I couldn't find the The Super DeGooper either at Home Depot (Hollywood). However, I was thinking of the Jasco but I just thought it might be too strong...apparently not...according to enginyr. What I got was GOOF OFF...lol....really. It took a little bit more work but was able to do it in about three hours with finishing touch-ups.

Gotta thank 2SAVVY again for reminding me...since I had plenty of time to do this mod....it was well worth the time spent.

Default Edges??

I was thinking just the ribs before I saw this.

One question:

How do you keep from taking paint off on the sides? I also want a shap line of paint so it looks prfessional. Thinking of tape or something but major pain is the A$$.

Late.

What I did was apply the gel on each rib then took a clean Q-tip and wipped the sides of the ribs where any excess gel worked its way onto.. It takes 30 minutes for the gel to do its stuff so as long as you wipe the excess off quickly then you are good to go..

Eppan,

Looks good man.. Thanks for posting pics too!!

Darn... I couldn't find any super de duper gooper either. But I used a graffitti remover that said it was safe on plastic. I sprayed it and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then I used a flat head screwdriver to scrape off the paint. Beautiful!!!! Thanks 2savvy.
Hey Sascha, I know you did it... if not shame on you. It looks ssooooo good on our Jade Green Paint.

Mele Kalikimaka!!! (Hawaiian for Merry Xmas)
